Priorities USA, a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC, quickly released an ad, “Why,” to untangle attacks made in a new American Crossroads PAC attack ad.

American Crossroads, a super PAC tied to Karl Rove, attacks Clinton for “taking 54 times more money from Wall Street interests than from all of Iowa” and “rewarding Wall Street with a $700 billion bailout.”

In response, “Why” attempts to show voters how Hillary is not beholden to Wall Street. The spot doesn’t dwell on the issue, but blunts the attack and jumps back to Clinton’s message – to fight the NRA and protect Planned Parenthood.

When questioned on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos about Rove’s attack ad, Hillary Clinton explained the spot “shows how desperate the Republicans are to prevent me from becoming the nominee."
